Susan believes that every single body on planet Earth would benefit from Pilates.
But that wasn’t always the case. Susan came to Pilates when her mother - a true believer in the power of Pilates - gifted her a ten pack of privates at a local boutique studio in Northern VA. Skeptical (and slightly offended), Susan decided to take the privates just so she could tell her mother how ridiculous this Pilates nonsense was.
After her first lesson, she thought that there might be something to this Pilates thing. By her third lesson, she found her self really looking forward to the next one. And before her 10th lesson was over, her trainer told Susan that she would make a great Pilates teacher. She immediately started researching Pilates certifications and signed up for one of the most rigorous training programs in the country.
Susan completed over 700 hours of intensive training at the Pilates Loft in Arlington with Alia Staples, Teacher Trainer for U.S. Pilates™ LLC; Jennifer O’Mara, Principal and Senior Teacher Trainer for U.S. Pilates® LLC, Brett Howard, Director of Education, Principal and and Senior Teacher Trainer for U.S. Pilates® LLC and David Freeman Principal and Senior Teacher Trainer for U.S. Pilates® LLC.
That was ten years and more than ten thousand teaching hours ago. Susan has worked with clients with just about every injury and issue you can think of, and the one thing they all have in common is that Pilates has improved their movement, their strength and their quality of life.
She is very exited to bring the kind of boutique Pilates experience she learned to Vermont, at a studio that is welcoming to the kind of bodies that can benefit from Pilates — all of them.
